About
Introducing Arora, a makeup kit inspired by semiotic relations and expressive narratives, blending the theatrical world of Cirque du Soleil with the conceptual essence of Alphaville. Designed specifically for Cirque's backstage experience, it caters to performers known for their bold show makeup. The kit features a mirror-integrated display, providing step-by-step tutorials that simplify the self-application process and ensure consistency before every performance.
You can explore the concept further in the video below.
Overall Look
Each brush tool is secured with magnetic attachments, both on the mirror and brushes, while custom slots keep sponges and the integrated cleaner neatly organized. The rotating brush cleaner cleans brushes in 30 seconds, reducing clutter and saving time during quick touch-ups. The LED lighting ensures accurate color application, while the built-in camera projects the tutorial directly onto the user’s face on the screen, providing real-time guidance.
Brushes & Sponges
The brushes and sponges were designed based on extensive research into the actual tools used by Cirque du Soleil performers. To fit seamlessly into the kit, they are collapsible and compact. Each tool is assigned a unique identification number, graphically marked on the brushes to prevent confusion. These numbers are also referenced in the tutorials, ensuring an organized and intuitive application process.
The touchscreen interface is connected to a dynamic database of active shows, providing users with up-to-date character makeup options. Once the user selects the desired character, the real-time tutorial system utilizes data-driven content to display the necessary tools and application steps directly on the screen. This interactive guidance ensures precision and consistency in makeup application.
All the world’s a stage, and all the people merely players.
